AFP , Sunday 11 Sep 2011

President Paul Kagame of Rwanda flew into Paris on Sunday for his first visit since the 1994 genocide, looking to repair ties despite controversy over Paris' role in his country's troubled past.

Airport officials told AFP that the president's jet touched down just after 4.00pm (1400 GMT). He was due to attend a meeting with around 3,000 Rwandan expatriates living in Europe in a north Paris suburb.
