Russia's armed forces said Wednesday they would send military police into the Syrian town of Douma from Thursday to keep the peace.
"From tomorrow, for security and to ensure law and order as well as to organise help for the local population, units of Russian military police are being brought into Douma," senior Russian officer Viktor Poznikhir said at a briefing in Moscow.
