UN peacekeeping troops have retaken control of a city in the Central African Republic captured this month by armed groups waging an offensive against President Faustin Archange Touadera's regime, a spokesman said.
"The city of Bangassou is under the complete control of MINUSCA," the peacekeeping force's spokesman Vladimir Monteiro said, adding that the rebels abandoned their positions following a UN ultimatum on Friday.
