The pandemic has pushed over 100 million more workers into poverty, the UN said Wednesday, after working hours plummeted and access to good quality jobs evaporated.

"Five years of progress towards the eradication of working poverty have been undone," a fresh report from the UN's International Labour Organization said, adding that compared to 2019, 108 million more workers around the world were now categorised as poor or extremely poor.
