Venezuela's president-elect Nicolas Maduro on Wednesday said "we don't care" about US recognition after Washington suggested it was not ready to acknowledge his contested weekend election win.
US Secretary of State John Kerry said Washington was not yet ready to validate Maduro's narrow victory in Sunday's vote, in which he defeated opposition candidate Henrique Capriles by a margin of 1.7 percentage points.
