A Canadian woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for traveling to northern Virginia to have sex with two children.
Forty-five-year-old Theresa Goddard of Vancouver, British Columbia, was sentenced Friday in federal court. She had pleaded guilty in October to attempting to coerce and entice two children into engaging in illegal sexual activity.
According to court documents, Goddard posted on a website that she wanted to start an "incest family."
Prosecutors say an undercover agent with Homeland Security Investigations responded to the postings and the two began communicating.
Authorities say the agent told Goddard he had two children, and Goddard made plans to travel from Vancouver to Virginia to sexually abuse the children, who do not exist.
Goddard was arrested June 26 at Dulles International Airport.
