The regular session of the UN General Assembly commenced on Tuesday, 5 September, with the inauguration led by the newly appointed General Assembly President, Dennis Francis.
The high-level General Debate is scheduled to take place from 19 to 23 September.
The Sudanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement late on Tuesday that Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Jibril Ibrahim will accompany Al-Burhan to the assembly meeting.
The delegation also includes acting Foreign Minister Ali Al-Sadiq and Director of the General Intelligence Service Ahmed Ibrahim Mufadel, it added.
Sudan has been witnessing deadly clashes between the SAF and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Khartoum and other areas since April 15, which have left at least 3,000 deaths and more than 6,000 injuries, according to the Sudanese Health Ministry.
About 4.8 million people have been displaced inside and outside Sudan due to the conflict, according to the latest update by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
