Egypt's Ambassador to Italy Hisham Badr said on Tuesday that cooperation between Alexandria governorate and the Italian city of Genoa will give fresh impetus to Egyptian-Italian relations.

In a press statement released at the conclusion of Alexandria Governor Abdel-Aziz Konsowa's four-day visit to Italy, Badr said that both sides agreed on preparing a draft fraternal agreement in several fields including tourism, technology and education.

Badr added that the deputy mayor of Genoa, during his meetings with the Alexandria governor, reviewed the most significant features of the Italian city and the investment opportunities it offers to the Mediterranean cities, topped by Alexandria.

Konsowa also highlighted the investment opportunities in Alexandria, voicing the great importance that the governorate attaches to tourism and heritage conservation, said Badr.

During his visit, Konsowa held meetings with Italian officials, topped by the minister of culture, Badr added.
