Egypt’s remittances from workers abroad rose 43 percent month-on-month in May to around $3 billion, the central bank said in a statement.
The remittances, one of the country’s main sources of hard currency, stood at $2.1 billion in April.
Egypt received $2.6 billion in remittances in May 2018, the statement added.
