Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf will begin a tour of the Gulf region on 24 April, his second tour since taking office at the beginning of March.
Sharaf will head a delegation including the ministers of international cooperation and foreign affairs, finance and industry in a five-day visit to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE.
The tour's main purpose is to expand economic co-operation and boost trade between Egypt and the Gulf states by working to attract more Arab investments to Egypt during the coming period. The hope is also to promote Arab tourism to Egypt.
A group of Egyptian investors working in Saudi Arabia recently met with Sharaf in his office, offering two projects for the establishment of a number of grain storage silos and centres to upgrade the skills of workers in Egypt. The projects could attract investment of up to half a billion pounds.
