In our story published 4 April, 'All the king’s men: Who runs Mubaraks' money?' Abraj Capital was mistakenly named as a partner of EFG-Hermes Private Equity (EHPE).
Abraj Capital's Vice Chairman Arif Naqvi was also wrongly quoted as saying, “In 1997, we launched our first USD 54 million private equity fund, Horus I, which was followed by the USD 29.5 million Middle East Technology Fund (METF) and Jordan Technology Fund (JTF) in 2000… realizing gains of $146m”.
The quote was copied from the website of EFG-Hermes and Abraj Capital has no proven links with EHPE.
The article has been corrected and Ahram Online apologises for this unintended error.
