Egypt sells T-bills worth 5.8 bln EGP

Egypt's central bank said it sold 5.788 billion Egyptian pounds ($971.73 million) in domestic treasury bills on Thursday.

The bank sold 2.5 billion pounds of 182-day bills, the same amount it had asked for, at an average yield of 12.589 per cent, down a fraction from 12.605 per cent at last week's auction.

The bank also asked for 3.5 billion pounds of 357-day T-bills, but accepted only 3.288 billion pounds at an average yield of 12.946 per cent up from 12.821 per cent at last issue on May 3.
