Singapore's Hyflux signs MOU with Egypt's Suez Canal Authority

On the opening day of President El-Sisi's Asian tour, a memorandum of understanding is signed on desalination and electricity production projects with Singapore's Hyflux Ltd

Egypt's Suez Canal Authority signed an MOU (memorandum of understanding) with Singapore's Hyflux Ltd Sunday for water desalination and the generation of electricity, state-owned news agency MENA reported.

The MOU was signed by head of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish and the CEO of Hydflux Olivia Lum, in the attendance of Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.

Hyflux is a leading provider of integrated water management and environmental solutions. The company operates in several places, including in Singapore, Southeast Asia, China, India, the Middle East and North Africa.

El-Sisi, who is on a seven-day Asian tour, arrived in Singapore Sunday.

The trip is the first by an Egyptian leader to Singapore since mutual ties were established in 1966.
