Egypt's central bank said it sold 5.79 billion Egyptian pounds ($973.83 million) in domestic treasury bills on Sunday, less than the 6.5 billion pounds it was seeking.
The bank sold 3 billion pounds of 91-day T-bills, the same amount it had asked for, at an average yield of 11.761 per cent, up from 11.602 per cent at last week's auction.
The bank also sold 2.79 billion pounds of 273-day T-bills at an average yield of 12.944 per cent, up from 12.865 per cent at the last issue on May 31. It had sought bills worth 3.5 billion pounds.
