Egypt selected seven companies out of twelve in a tender to import 55 liquified natural gas (LNG) cargoes from November this year to December 2016, the Petroleum Ministry announced on Monday.

The ministry has not yet announced the names of the bid winners.

Last month Egypt received its second LNG import terminal from Singapore-based Norwegian group BW Gas. The terminal has a capacity of 600 to 700 million cubic feet per day.

The country expects four to five cargoes each month.
