Jordan property deals reach $5.35 billion in year to date

Real estate transactions are on the up as sporadic protests in the kingdom fail to dent consumer confidence or foreign purchases

The total value of property deals in Jordan surged 31 per cent in the year to date to reach JOD3.8 billion (US$5.35bn), according to the country's Department of Land Surveying.

The jump was partly fuelled by an increasing demand for apartment units in Amman, much of it led by non-Jordanians.

Apartment purchases by foreigners reached JOD250 million ($352.36m) in the year to date, an increase of 41 per cent on the same period last year.
