Egypt's state-owned Sugar and Integrated Industries Company said on Sunday it cancelled a tender to buy 50,000 tonnes of raw sugar due to high prices.
"We will review the situation when market prices improve," a SIIC official told Reuters.
The tender was for September, October and November shipment.
Egypt last bought sugar on August 8 when it purchased 50,000 tonnes from Brazil for October and November shipments.
