Egypt's central bank sold LE6.5 billion in domestic treasury bills on Sunday, the same amount it had offered, Egypt's Finance Ministry said.
The central bank sold LE3 billion of three-month T-bills, on behalf of the ministry. The average yield rose to 13.024 per cent from 12.930 per cent at last week's auction. It was the highest yield since October 2008.
It also sold LE3.5 billion nine-month T-bills, the average yield rose to 13.830 per cent from 12.981 per cent at the last issue on 30 August.
