Egyptian stocks have closed in the red for the first time in five days, the EGX30 finishing Tuesday down 0.81 per cent at 4,214 points.
The trading board was a mix of red and green, although more firms gained than lost.
Losses clustered around high-cap stocks like Orascom Construction Industries and the Commercial International bank.
Market turnover was LE257 million, significantly lower than Monday's total of LE309.4m.
