Egypt's major stocks have finished Sunday in the red, 2.46 per cent down at 4,023 points as clashes between security forces and protesters rage on in central Cairo.

From the day's 167 traded stocks, less than a dozen made gains, with market sectors taking across the board hits.

Total market turnover was LE201.14 million.
