Daily production has fallen by 20,000 since independence in July, says petroleum minister

South Sudan's daily oil output has fallen by about 20,000 barrels per day (bpd) since the country declared independence on 9 July, the petroleum and mining minister told reporters on Tuesday.

The new African nation is currently producing around 350,000 barrels per day, Stephen Dhieu Dau said.
