Egypt sees $77 million injected in new enterprises, creating 3,197 jobs last week

New investment is bringing new jobs, predominantly in services

Egypt saw 210 new companies established in the week ending 1 December, creating around 3,197 jobs, according to data from the General Authority for Investment (GAFI).

Total capital injected reached LE464 million ($77 million), with around a third of the new firms in the services sector, with manufacturing and nebulous "varied activities" also making up large portions.

On the jobs created, it is estimated that 45 per cent are in crafts, 23 per cent administrative, and 16 per cent in agriculture.
