Egypt's major stocks have closed Sunday firmly in the green, the benchmark EGX30 gaining a further 1.34 per cent to sit at 3,920 points.
The day's gains, however, were restricted to just over a dozen shares, with more than 120 of the 160-plus stocks traded in the session losing value. The broader EGX70 fell 1.7 per cent as a result.
Top traders were Orascom Telecom and Orascom Telecom Media And Technology Holding. Telecommunications firm OT was split in two late last year, with trading suspended until the de-merger took effect. Sunday is the first trade of the company's stock since 29 November.
Total market turnover was around LE305.8 million.
