Export council reveals rise in marble, granite exports in January, February

The Export Council for Building Materials, Refractory & Metallurgy Industries revealed on Sunday an increase in the exports of marble and granite in in January and February.

In a statement, the council said the increase, estimated at 26.6 percent, amounted to 38 million dollars from 30 million in the same period last year.

China topped the countries that import the materials followed by Libya, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco, South Korea, Lebanon, Britain and the United Arab Emirates. 

The report indicated that the glass exports in January and February decreased by 9.6 percent recording 56 million dollars compared to 62 million in the same period last year.

Turkey topped the countries that import Egyptian glass which also include Madagascar, Guinea, Bangladesh, Angola, Georgia, Zambia, France and Pakistan
