Market Update: Egypt stocks trim losses mid-Thursday, still down 2.7 pct

Egyptian stocks have begun recouping some of their earlier losses, with the benchmark EGX30 climbing to 4,561 points by mid-Thursday, but still 2.71 per cent down on its opening level.

Orascom Telecom and the Talaat Moustafa Group are seeing the heaviest trade; the former's value has stabilised while the latter is down 0.87 per cent.
 
The main index fell 4.6 per cent in the opening 15 minutes of Thursday trade, the morning after over 71 people were killed in Port Said in Egypt's worst football-related disaster.
