Prime Minister Mostafa Madoubli on Sunday issued a decision on the establishment of one or more permanent joint committee at every customs port to simplify customs release procedures.
The premier said these committees shall have one representative or more from the Egyptian Customs Authority, General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOEIC), Egyptian Food Safety Authority, the authorities of agricultural and vet quarantine as well as other bodies concerned.
The decision stipulates that the committees will have the right to develop a clear mechanism and timetable for opening containers or packages of imported or exported goods.
Under the decision, the representatives will submit a report on the results of inspection and control.
