Senior German official praises Egypt’s economic reforms

The head of a delegation from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Bernd Denzlaf, has praised Egypt’s economic growth and the improvements in its economy, adding that Germany has supported Egypt’s economic reforms since the beginning.

Denzlaf’s statements came during a meeting in Cairo on Thursday with Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, in the presence of German Ambassador to Egypt Cyrill Nunn.

Denzlaf added that the performance of the Egyptian economy will have a positive impact on the developmental cooperation between the two countries.

At the meeting, Al-Mashat revealed that German-Egyptian cooperation is worth €1.69 billion and covers 50 projects, with a focus on education, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), renewable energy, water resources, irrigation, and solid waste management.

The two officials discussed deepen developmental and economic cooperation between Egypt and Germany in order to achieve Egypt’s national agenda and its sustainable development objectives.
