The inflation rate stood at 107.4 in August, down 0.3 percent in comparison with July, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said on Thursday.
CAPMAS said in a statement that the inflation rate on an annual basis decreased to reach 3.6% in August 2010 compared to 6.78% in the same month of 2019.
CAPMAS added that food and beverage prices dropped by 2.6 percent in August in comparison with the previous month.
The inflation rate in urban areas stood at 107.9 points in August, down 0.2 percent in comparison with the previous month.
In rural areas, the inflation rate registered 106.9 points in August, decreasing by 0.5 percent in comparison with July.
