Egypt's stocks closed in the green on Thursday just a few hours before the vote count for the country's presidential elections begin, with the benchmark EGX30 up 1 per cent at 4.971.72 points.
The broader index EGX70 also ended the week up 0.4 per cent.
From the 177 traded stocks, 111 rose in value and 42 saw losses.
