Egyptian stocks are slipping into the red, the benchmark EGX30 down 0.6 per cent at 4,660 points by early Thursday afternoon.

The broader EGX70 is trading 0.64 per cent in the red.

Turnover is currently around LE146 million ($24.14m), with nearly half tied up in trade in Orascom Construction Industries.

On Wednesday, the main index saw a tiny gain after news that executives from investment bank EFG-Hermes will face trial put the brakes on a market rally.
