Egyptian stocks have charted major gains in the first trading session since Mohamed Morsi officially became president, with the benchmark EGX30 closing Monday 4.97 per cent up at 4,924 points.
The broader EGX70 gained 3.27 per cent.
Turnover was an impressive LE747 million, around three times higher than recent averages. OTMT and EFG-Hermes saw the heaviest trade.
