Ahmed Kishta, the Egypt, Levant and Sudan director for Amgen
Kishta made his comments during the Al-Ahram Establishment’s two-day pharmaceutical conference, whose third edition kicked off on Sunday.
He also noted that healthcare has an enormous effect on economic and social well-being globally.
“In line with the [Egyptian] state’s orientations and Egypt Vision 2030, healthcare is a top priority for the government as a cornerstone for the country to grow. It is necessary to provide affordable healthcare services for citizens,” said Kishta.
He added that cardiovascular disease is one of the highest impact diseases that demands the government’s attention, causing 46 percent of global deaths in 2017.
“Moreover, two thirds of patients in Egypt cannot reach the required blood cholesterol level. Thus, early detection, critical therapeutic intervention in accordance with the international protocols and the swift provision of modern treatments for patients will benefit the state itself,” Kishta explained.
