Egypt's banks will reopen for business on Sunday at 10 a.m. (0800 GMT) and close at 1:30 p.m. after a week-long closure, the central bank's Deputy Governor Hisham Ramez said by telephone on Saturday.
He denied a report by the official news agency that banks would start operations at 8:30 a.m. (0630 GMT).
The stock exchange said earlier that it was reversing a decision taken last week to reopen on Monday and that it would announce the new reopening date 48 hours beforehand.
