The SCA amended its Rules of Navigation to apply additional dues of "100 percent of transit dues of the floating Suez Canal Gross Tonnage (SCGT) units."
They will also impose two percent of the transit dues for each foot or fraction of a foot in excess of the maximum allowable breadth.
Earlier in June, Chairman of SCA Osama Rabie stated that the canal was reviewing the transit tariffs and would reach a decision in October. Any changes would take effect in January 2024.
