The Sudanese central bank aims to tap Egypt's regulatory know-how and foster cooperative relations with the CBE to develop the banking sector in the country, said CBE Governor Hassan Abdullah.
The visit, led by the bank’s vice-governor, is the result of a 2021 memorandum of understanding between the two central banks.
The Sudanese delegation was accompanied by experts from the World Bank.
The visit involved meetings with key Egyptian banking and regulatory institutions to discuss transferring Egypt's experience in banking regulation, risk management, payments systems, financial inclusion, anti-money laundering and terrorism financing rules.
The delegation also met with representatives from the Egyptian Banking Institute to explore cooperation in areas including training, capacity building and qualifying South Sudanese banking staff.
