The report -- titled ‘Building Resilience and Fostering Sustainable Growth in the Middle East and North Africa’ -- will be released on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Group annual meetings being currently held in Marrakech through Sunday, 15 October.
It sheds light on the economic landscape in the Middle East and North Africa and the key forecasts for the region amid the ongoing serious global economic crisis.
Ahram Online and Al-Ahram Weekly will be also the IMF’s media partners for a panel discussion set to be held following the launch of the report.
The event will feature Jihad Azour, Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the IMF; Amer Bisat, Head of Emerging Markets Fixed Income at BlackRock; Monica Malik, Chief Economist at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank in the UAE; and Masood Ahmed, President of global think tank Center for Global Development.
The session will be moderated by Joumanna Bercetche, co-anchor of the European edition of CNBC’s ‘Street Signs’.
Both events will be live-streamed concurrently on IMF’s official website, Ahram Online’s Facebook page, and the official website of Ahram Online.
