The Egyptian Bahraini Governmental Committee held a meeting Thursday attended by top-ranking officials from both countries.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait met with Bahraini Minister of Finance and National Economy Salman bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa and a large delegation from key financial authorities in Bahrain.
The two parties agreed on expanding cooperation and increasing trade exchange by removing all impediments facing Egyptian and Bahraini business communities.
The value of trade exchange between Egypt and Bahrain, which stands at around $500 million, doesn’t reflect the strong relations of brotherhood that exist between the two nations, and we look forward to increasing that exchange to $1 billion, bin Khalifa said.
Trade between Egypt and Bahrain increased by 128.7 percent from $401 million in 2020 to $917.2 million in 2021, according to the latest data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
