Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat said the move is meant to support the ACA's role in fostering Arab integration.

For his part, Chairman of the ACA Chairman and Egyptian Senate Chief Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Razeq commended Egypt’s founding support for the ACA, which was established in 2020 in Cairo under the 1964 Arab Economic Unity Agreement to settle commercial and investment disputes while stimulating Arab economies.

The ACA will provide arbitration services, establish the region's first arbitration academy to train international arbitrators, and draft various contracts to resolve disputes in a way that fosters Arab trade and investment. 

The court’s board of trustees and board of directors include an elite group of judges, lawyers, public figures, and senior officials from across the Arab world.

Abdel-Razeq is joined on the board of trustees by four vice presidents, including Counselor Hamdi Abu Zaid, vice-president of Egypt's State Council and member of the Supreme Administrative Court.

Meanwhile, the board of directors is headed by Counsellor Farouk Sultan, a former president of the Supreme Constitutional Court.

Egypt has been relocating ministries to the NAC. Egypt’s new capital occupies a total area of 170,000 feddans located nearly 60km southeast of Cairo. The megacity is set to house 6.5 million people when completed.

The repurposing of the old ministry headquarters in Cairo is part of an ongoing effort to rejuvenate the Egyptian capital.

It is not just ministries moving to the new capital. On Friday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) – currently based in 6th of October City – signed an agreement to build a new headquarters in the NAC.
