Powered by Exits MENA and ECNSYS+, the first-of-its-kind initiative took place over two days to foster a dynamic investment ecosystem and offer SMEs access to funding opportunities.

The event facilitated connections between 40 startups and SMEs spanning 16 industries and over 60 investors, venture capitalists, and banks.

Out of over 1,000 applicants, a curated list of 40 startups and SMEs were selected to receive tailored investment readiness training.

This comprehensive training programme, conducted in collaboration with the business school of Knowledge Hub University and Coventry University, equipped the chosen participants with skills and insights essential to attract investment and thrive in today's competitive market.

"About 43 percent of Egypt's SMEs in 2023 are optimistic about their growth prospects, indicating a robust recovery and a conducive environment for entrepreneurial ventures," said the statement.

The first day of the event focused on 20 selected SMEs, providing an exclusive platform for pitching their ideas and receiving immediate feedback from industry experts.

On the second day, the spotlight shifted to 20 innovative startups.

The event's success resulted in the identification of 15 potential investment opportunities within just two days.

Moreover, the EXITS team is currently working closely with SMEs and potential investors/lenders to transform these opportunities into tangible deals.

Looking ahead, Mohamed Abu El-Naga, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Exits MENA, announced, "We are already planning the second edition of Xmatch Demo Day, building on the incredible success of this inaugural event."

Exits MENA, the driving force behind the event, is the first investment platform of its kind in the MENA region, dedicated to connecting startups and SMEs with global investors.

ECOSYS+, a project funded by the European Union, aims to reinforce the national innovation ecosystem and amplify its global presence by providing tools to develop targeted innovative products and services.
