Yahia Kotub, CEO of ADTIC, announced that the company has allocated approximately $100 million to establish the hotel, noting that this amount does not include the land cost.
He noted that construction of the hotel will begin in December 2024, with an expected opening in May 2027, according to the project’s timeline.
ADTIC’s CEO highlighted that Sofitel Legend, a renowned luxury brand, will strengthen its connection to history and heritage in one of the world’s most exceptional locations, the Pyramids.
The hotel will overlook the great Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). It will feature 303 elegantly appointed rooms, offering stunning views of these legendary sites.
Guests can enjoy world-class dining options and exclusive wellness facilities, all infused with the timeless elegance of Sofitel Legend.
Building this hotel aligns with Egypt's goal to provide 200,000-250,000 new hotel rooms.
ADTIC is a prominent private-sector leader in hotel ownership, hospitality development, and tourism investment. Operating successfully in the Egyptian market since 1988, the company has built a strong reputation for excellence in its field.
The company owns a diverse portfolio of hotels, including Mövenpick Resort Sharm El-Sheikh and Mercure Hurghada Hotel. The Sofitel Legend Pyramids Hotel will be the third in the portfolio, with construction set to begin in December 2024.
Meanwhile, French company Accor, founded in 1967, operates 41 hotels in Egypt with a capacity of 12,535 rooms.
According to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), Emirates foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into Egypt recorded $3 billion, while Emirates FDI outflows from Egypt scored $1.7 billion.
