This announcement was made during a meeting with Hossam Heiba, CEO of GAFI, where they discussed collaborating to attract new investments into Egypt's health sector.

Reddy highlighted the significant potential of Egypt to invest in the medical tourism sector.

Both parties agreed to foster investment in Egypt through the Access Health network, which includes over 100 global partners.

They also committed to working on technical and research initiatives to develop an interactive investment map for Egypt’s healthcare sector. This will provide investment opportunities in medical tourism, healthcare institution establishment, drug and vaccine production, medical devices, and health insurance services.

Hala Zayed, regional director of Access Health for the Middle East and North Africa, praised the Egyptian government’s decision to grant the "Golden License" for health sector projects.

“This initiative will greatly benefit from the streamlined process of working with a single authority to secure construction and operational approvals,” she said.

Zayed also announced the opening of Access Health’s Cairo office, which will strengthen cooperation with the public and private sectors to improve healthcare services for Egyptian citizens and coordinate efforts to attract investments into the healthcare sector.

For his part, Heiba highlighted the incentives for health sector investments, which are enhanced when they align with "Egypt’s Vision 2030" and Egypt's  Sustainable Development Plan.

These incentives focus on improving service quality, expanding coverage for vulnerable citizens, ensuring sustainability, promoting technology localization, creating jobs, and addressing the social impact of investments.

GAFI’s CEO and Access Health International representatives also agreed to target global healthcare brands for investment in Egypt, aiming to boost the economy, promote Egypt as a global destination for medical tourism, and increase income for Egypt’s medical professionals.

Founded in 2007, ACCESS Health International is a non-profit think tank focused on improving access to high-quality, affordable healthcare globally through research, policy advocacy, and evidence-based action.

It collaborates with governments, healthcare providers, academia, and private organizations to drive health sector improvements and strengthen health systems worldwide.
