Stoesz made this statement during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to discuss the project.

He mentioned bringing experts to Egypt to explore the project in detail.

He expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with professionals in Egypt’s health sector and highlighted the company’s commitment to expanding production based on the needs of the Egyptian and regional markets, particularly in Africa.

For his part, Madbouly expressed strong support for GE Healthcare’s plan to manufacture ultrasound devices in Egypt, which aligns with the government’s broader efforts to localize the medical device industry.

He assured Stoesz that the government would provide all necessary incentives and advantages to ensure the project’s success and encourage the company to explore manufacturing additional medical devices beyond ultrasound.

Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, deputy prime minister for human development and minister of health and population, highlighted that localizing the medical device industry is one of the health ministry’s key priorities.

During the meeting, the company’s officials outlined the various stages of the ultrasound manufacturing localization process, emphasizing the potential to expand exports to Africa.

This is particularly significant given Egypt’s membership in several regional economic blocs and its participation in the Continental Free Trade Area agreement.
