After signing the agreement, President El-Sisi shook hands with his French counterpart and exchanged signed copies of the joint statement.
The two presidents held a bilateral meeting, followed by extensive high-level talks between the delegations of both countries.
After that, the two leaders witnessed the signing ceremony of several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between their countries.
The cooperation agreements and MoUs included the following:
1. A declaration of intent between the Egyptian Ministry of Health and the French Ministry of Health,
2. An agreement to establish a French health centre in Cairo,
3. Implementing a roadmap for Cairo's sixth metro line,
4. A declaration of intent between the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and the French Ministry of Higher Education,
5. A joint declaration to implement priority projects,
6. A joint declaration regarding the signing of four investment projects,
7. A memorandum of understanding to establish 100 Francophone schools.
A joint press conference between the two presidents was expected to follow.
President Macron arrived in Egypt on Sunday for a three-day official high-level visit to discuss the recent Gaza developments and the political and economic ties between Egypt and France.
