The signing came during the current high-level visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Egypt.
Water Treatment Initiatives:
-New Wastewater Treatment Plant in East Alexandria:** A 70 million euro investment to enhance wastewater processing, serving approximately 1.5 million residents and improving sanitation services.
- Yellow Mountain Wastewater Treatment Plant:** 61.5 million euros for the third expansion phase to meet the growing population's needs.

Energy Sector:
- Regional Control Center in Alexandria:** 60 million euros dedicated to improving electricity supply and modernizing control facilities, enhancing the reliability of energy distribution in one of Egypt's most densely populated areas.
Transportation Projects:
- Rubiki/10th of Ramadan/Belbeis Railway Line:** 70.8 million euros dedicated to facilitating the movement of goods and enhancing the competitiveness of local producers by linking dry ports with major transport routes.
According to the statement, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat emphasized that these agreements represent a significant step forward in Egyptian-French relations, elevating them to a strategic partnership level.
She also highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing urgent infrastructure needs and promoting sustainable development.
President Macron's visit highlights the ongoing commitment of both nations to strengthen economic ties and support Egypt's developmental goals.
The projects are expected to create job opportunities, boost economic growth, and improve living conditions for millions of Egyptians.
The statement added that the ministry will consult with French government agencies in the upcoming months to identify additional priority projects.
The French Development Agency (AFD) will direct the funding, focusing on shared interests such as sustainable infrastructure and climate change initiatives.
