Ahmed El-Assar named technical advisor to Federation of SME Investors

The Federation of of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Investors announced on Wednesday the appointment of Ahmed El-Assar as a technical advisor, as part of the federation’s drive to strengthen its technical and developmental capabilities.

The move will support the formulation of a new developmental policy for civic economic work, focusing on empowering entrepreneurs and SME owners in line with Egypt’s vision for sustainable development and a competitive national economy.

Federation chairman, Eng Alaa El-Saqty, said El-Assar’s experience in business development, government relations, and the petroleum sector would strengthen the organization’s ability to support entrepreneurs and navigate current economic challenges.

El-Assar graduated from Alexandria University with a chemical engineering degree and holds an MBA from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport. He has also completed training in leadership, strategy, and national security.

He currently heads Lynx for Business Development and Consulting and sits on the board of a public policy firm.

In addition to his advisory work, he hosts Close-Up Dialogue on TeN TV and writes regularly on public affairs. He is also the founder of the “Ida’at Cultural Salon.”

El-Assar said his focus in the new role will be on helping SMEs access financing, build technical skills, and adopt modern technologies.

He also stressed the need to strengthen ties between the federation, government institutions, and international partners.

He described the federation’s work as key to supporting a youth-driven, innovation-led economy.
