The Arab Federation of Accountants and Auditors (AFAA) is convening the International Conference under the patronage of Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly.

Held under the theme of Sustainability, Financial Transparency, Digital Transformation, and Economic Development, the event aims to set a strategic framework for the accounting profession, focusing on integrating sustainability into financial reporting, improving transparency, and equipping professionals with digital tools.

International and regional figures are expected to attend, including Lee White, CEO of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), alongside representatives from the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA), the Federation of Mediterranean Accountants (FCM), and senior Egyptian officials.

Sessions will cover the role of accountants in sustainable economic practices, the link between sustainability and financial transparency, and the impact of digital transformation on auditing.

Dr Farid Lawandy, board member of the Egyptian Society of Accountants and Auditors, said the conference marks a turning point for the profession in the region.

“We aim to position Arab accountants as strategic partners in achieving ambitious economic goals, equipped with the tools and knowledge to lead in today’s complex environment,” he said.

The conference aims to strengthen collaboration between Arab and global standard-setters and reinforce the role of accountants in building resilient and transparent economies.
