Banking operations will resume on Monday, 1 June.
The move follows an earlier directive by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, who declared the same six-day period an official paid holiday for ministries, government agencies, and state-owned companies.
The central bank instructed all local lenders to keep automated teller machines (ATMs) fully stocked with cash to meet continuous withdrawal demand during the extended shutdown.
Digital banking networks, mobile applications, and Egypt's national instant payment network, "InstaPay", will remain operational throughout the holiday period, the CBE added.
