Ahram Online, Monday 10 Dec 2012

Egypt's annual inflation in November dropped to 4.1 per cent, its lowest level since March 2006, mainly due to a significant slowdown in the growth rate of food prices, data from

Egypt's official statistics agency showed on Monday.

Prices of food and drink, which have the highest weight in the consumer price index, grew 5.3 per cent in comparison to November 2011 but dropped a sharp 2.7 per cent below October 2012's figures.

The overall inflation rate dropped 1.5 per cent on a monthly basis.
