Egyptair, the national airline carrier, has suspended 40 per cent of its fleet to save on insurance costs. The company will look into renting out the idle aircraft due to the considerable decline in its revenue since 25 January.
The news was announced in a statement released by the chairman of Egyptair Holding Company, Hussein Masoud.
The company also opened the door for staff to take unpaid leave.
