The new increases, according the Company’s Chairman Sayed Abdul Wahab, are the result of the Company’s increased productivity over the past few months. Further increases in wages are to take place in April and July 2011, he added.

Abdul Wahab denied any connection between the pay hikes and the nation's ongoing protests.

'No protests have been made by the company’s workers' Abdul Wahab said.
